I am so incredibly excited to share this wedding with you today! When I first started Wedding Wednesdays, I envisioned being able to share reader's weddings. That vision has finally come to fruition!
Today, I am honored to share a reader's wedding. Julie blogs at Little Gosh and is just the cutest! When she sent me a sample of the photos, I fell in love! Their wedding is simple, beautiful, and includes a touch of Disney. :)
Date: June 27, 2010
Location: Pinoli Restaurant (Bride's Brother's Restaurant)
São Paulo, Brazil
"The Disney details were due to our slight obsession and also because we went to WDW in Orlando for our honeymoon. The bridal registry was done through a website, and guest gifted us with honeymoon items, from hotel and part tickets, to dinners, car rental and cash for spending on shopping. All the flower and prep was done by family and friends, including the bride and groom who spent the day before getting everything ready!"
"My favorite moment of the day was our prayer and the lighting of the unity candle during the ceremony. We had been dating for four years and living together for two, but then and there things felt so official and so final, in such a marvelous way!"
"My one piece of advice is for you to figure out what you two want. Although I think big lavish parties are so pretty, I knew that wouldn’t feel like ‘me.’ I am a simple gal, so I put my foot down and skipped the high heels. My hubby is a Disney maniac, so we wore Mickey and Minnie ears even though some people warned us we would look silly and regret the pictures. We planned the wedding as if it was just the two of us there, instead of stressing over a party to please others, which never seems to please everyone anyway."
This couple also got some great photos right after the wedding, essentially doing a couple's shoot. This is such a great idea and one that I haven't seen before! This truly captured the newlywed joy of the couple. Love it!
