A Materialistic Post

You've been warned. This post is full of stuff

My birthday is just around the corner! Yay! I'm not turning a very significant age (23), but that doesn't matter. Also, as an adult, I can't say that I'm expecting a whole lot. Birthdays are different when you turn a certain age.

But all of that doesn't keep me from wanting more stuff. So, to indulge my materialistic side, here is a short list of a few things I have been coveting recently and would love to own.

1) Silhouette Cameo - Part of me wants this, but another part of me knows that it will be a continuous expense and I honestly have no idea how often I will use it. But the endless possibilities do excite me more than they should! How fun it would be for both events and fun little home projects!

2) Hair "Appliances" - I don't know what else to call them. That phrase makes it sound like I want to cook my hair into little cakes. (That is not the case.) Here is a fact that might surprise you: I do not own a hair dryer or a curling iron. I usually shower at night and let my hair air dry (this prevents the frizziness I get otherwise) and my hair really fights me when I try to curl it. However, I've done my research now and have discovered a few that might actually work for my hair! And while we're at it, let's get a better flat iron, shall we?

3) Make Up - I realize that I sound like a teenage girl. "I want hair stuff and make up for my birthday!" But really, I was looking at my make up stash the other day, and besides my everyday make up, I don't think I've bought new make up since high school. My everyday routine is basically foundation, eyeliner, and mascara. Sometimes blush. But all the rest of my make up is at least 4 years old. :( So I'm thinking a little make up shopping isn't unreasonable, right? It would all be drug store stuff. Any recommendations?

4) Setting Up My "Studio" - When we lived in our last apartment, I used a roll top desk for my sewing machine and kind of just had my fabric strewn everywhere. This time around, I want to be a lot more organized. What I would love is this, but I'm thinking that I will settle for a nice table with a peg board behind it. I'll paint it a fun color and buy some hooks and storage containers. My husband has pretty much already told me I can have this, but I'm starting to get anxious. :) Now if I really had my way, I would ask for something like this:

But, for many reasons, this won't happen. Wouldn't it be nice, though?

Anyway, those are pretty much at the top of my list right now. As if I didn't have enough stuff. What are you currently coveting? Anything I must have that I don't already know about?
