Wedding Wednesday: Ozark Mountain

Hey hey! Happy leap day everyone! Speaking of everyone, where are you? If you are reading, let me know in the comments!

I finally have a bit of a homework break for the next week or so, so expect some fun posts pretty soon! Also, I get to shopping this weekend (!!) so I'm hoping share my finds with you all also. :)

Today's wedding is a gorgeous celebration with a handmade feel. I stumbled across this over at Green Wedding Shoes the other day and just fell in love. Take a look at the pictures! And notice that they did the vintage postcard guestbook idea that I love!

Tunes & Spoons Design Giveaway!

Hey all! It has been a little dead around here, so hopefully this will liven things up a little. While this is not my own personal giveaway, it is still a great one! I mentioned Tunes and Spoons once before on this blog when I featured her lovely nursery.

Well, she just announced her newest project, Tunes & Spoons Design! If you have ever seen her blog, you know that her design skills are awesome! She has a great feminine, classy, and eclectic taste. If you feel that your blog is in need of design and you are lacking in graphic design skills, definitely check out this giveaway!

Currently Obsessing Over...

It's back! And this is a long(ish) post because its been two whole weeks! So here we go!

1. This lovely little breakfast nook. The colors are just so happy! What an awesome place to eat breakfast.

2. This project. It is supposed to be for Valentine's Day, but it would be cute to wear any time! And it looks so easy!

3. This completely adorable picture! I know Up! has kind of been a theme this week, but Up! plus Star Wars? Best thing ever!

4. Gimp Photoshop Alternative. I haven't exactly learned how to use this yet, but I'm pretty excited to start! Hopefully now I will be able to make some fun stuff for the blog using this. :)

5. These creative guest book ideas. How awesome would these be?

6. This sofa table. My husband has some woodworking skills, so maybe I will have him make this for us before we move? Just picture it in a bright yellow or a kelly green. So cute!

What have you been obsessing over recently?

DIY: What Not To Wear (Pt. 1)

Whenever I go home (as in to my parent's house), I watch What Not To Wear. We don't have cable in our apartment, so this is a special treat for me. I love seeing the transformation people go through with just some decent fitting clothes, a little makeup, and a new hair style. My sister and I have actually (jokingly) thrown around the idea of pretending to dress terrible for a few weeks and have someone from our family nominate us just so we can go on a $5000 shopping spree in NYC. :)

Anyway, recently, it has been a little frustrating to get dressed in the morning. I have gained a little bit of weight recently, so some things don't fit quite right. Also, I have a tendency to hold onto things that I don't really wear just because they were a gift or because they are good quality. But all of these things are just taking up space in my closet. So I decided to do a little wardrobe purge.

Last night, I put on an episode of Smash (have you seen it yet? It's great!) and started going through all of my clothes. I came up with a pretty big pile of stuff I really don't wear and am just keeping out of obligation.

Lots of jackets that are either too big, too small, or too juvenile.
A few pairs of sweatpants that make me look even heavier than I am.
Some shirts that are too tight.
And a couple pairs of shoes that I haven't worn in at least a year.

I also ended up throwing away some jeans and shirts that just weren't salvageable. Anyway, there are a few pieces that are worth some money, so I may try to sell those for a few dollars. But most of this will go to a second-hand store.

My goal throughout this process is to simplify my wardrobe and find ways to wear pieces I love but often pass over. Things like this Forever21 sweater dress that I bought forever ago but haven't fixed the pockets on:

Or this shawl that I got over a year ago but have only worn twice:

And I need to learn to iron so that I can wear one of my favorite blouses more often:

Can't you see the potential? Look at these cute little buttons and ruffles!

Anyway, the most exciting thing to come out of this whole thing is a shopping trip with my husband. :) I'm going to have him go through all of his clothes too and get rid of things that have holes or that are too big for him. Then, next Saturday, we are making a day of it and going to the mall, eating at Red Robin, and hitting Target too (yay Target!). I'm hoping to add some more dresses (specifically summer ones) and just some more "grown-up" tops in general. I will report back after the shopping trip with pictures of my great finds. :)

Have you ever done a wardrobe overhaul? What kind of clothing pieces do you find to be the most versatile or useful?

Quick Update About Sponsoring

Hey! Just wanted to let you all know that I resized my buttons, so if you grabbed a button but it wasn't the right size, you may want to get the new ones. You can find them at the tab labeled "Sponsor & Contact." Also, if you do put a button on your page, I would love to know so I can reciprocate! Thanks! Also, look for some awesome posts coming up! I'm so excited! (Also I guess I really love exclamation points!)

Wedding Wednesday: Indiana Jones

Today I am going to start a new weekly feature that I am so excited about! I have been married for almost 2 years and recently I've been getting major wedding fever. After planning my own wedding, I was so overwhelmed that I didn't even look at the wedding blogs I had loved prior to my wedding. But in the last few months, a passion for wedding planning and design has been creeping back into my life.

So every Wednesday I want to share a wedding with all of you! To start it off, I'm actually breaking the rules a little bit...this isn't technically a wedding. It's wedding inspiration. But when I saw it, I knew I had to share it! I love seeing movies translated into real-life situations, and with my love of Disneyland, this was right up my alley.

Enjoy this Indiana Jones wedding inspiration from Green Wedding Shoes!

At my college, we have two banquets each year. The first one, in early February, my husband and I always attend because that was our first date! This year, it fell on a Friday right after I got my new camera. So I figured this would be a great opportunity to try it out!

This year's theme was Murder Mystery/Masquerade. I don't have any pictures of me (forgot to have someone take them), but enjoy a few of these photos that I snapped at the event. :)
