New Year, New Projects!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope your celebration was great! Mine was very uneventful, just myself, my husband, and my sister drinking Martinelli's and watching the ball drop. My parents didn't even make it to midnight. :/ Oh well.

We are now in 2012! I am so excited about this year! Graduating from college, moving, real life jobs, and who knows what else! I recently wrote a post about my goals for 2012. One of them was to improve my sewing skills by taking this Home Ec E-Course. So, using some Christmas money, I decided to make this my first real purchase of the year! I have already started reading through some of the projects and I am so excited to get home and start sewing!

While I cannot show tutorials regarding the projects I will be doing, I am planning on sharing the final product of what I created with you all! This will probably be a little slow going once school starts back up, but I will try to post pictures as soon as I am finished with each project.

Here is a list of the projects I will be creating, in the order I will be making them in:

Drawstring Gift Pouch

Cloth Napkins

Reusable Grocery/Book Bag

Round Bunting

Supplies Roll-Up

Ironing Board Cover

Quilted Pot Holder

Curtains

Reversible Bib

Hemming Jeans at Home

Zippered Pencil Case

Resizing a Shirt or Dress

Jersey Wrap Skirt

Sewing Machine Cover

Plushie Toy

Removable Pillow Case with Piping

Ruffled Duvet Cover

Fabric Cubby/Tray

Padded Laptop Case

Full Apron

Mod Table Runner

Leather and Canvas Purse

Hanging Shoe Organizer

Drafting a Simple Pattern

Messenger Bag

Reading a Commercial Plan

Flying Geese Quilt

I am planning on making this a separate tab as I go along and linking to each project. So if you want to see my progress on this journey, there should soon be a tab at the top of the page to follow this!

If you are looking to either improve your sewing skills or even wanting to learn to sew, this e-course seems to be a good option. It is less traditional than some, using more practical skills and increasing in difficulty. Another perk to this course is that if you want to open an online shop like I do, paying the $50 for the course lets you recreate the items and sell them for profit. If you decide to go through this course, let me know and we can encourage each other to finish! :)
